Music by Aeolus White

Aeolus is a singer, songwriter, and poet who writes, sings and dances to heal themselves and others. From Brooklyn, New York, with roots in South Carolina and Barbados, they try to be faithful not only to their Black ancestors but to the Queer folk before them. This sense of purpose comes from the hardship and triumph, solitude and community, pain and hope that many of us experience throughout our lives and as a collective across generations. Classic musical inspirations include Aretha Franklin, Johnny Hartman, Donny Hathaway, Luther Vandross, Daryl Coley, Nina Simone, Sylvester, Maxwell, Masters at Work, Frankie Knuckles, Mariah Carey, and Journey among many others. Contemporary inspirations include Lianne La Havas, Frank Ocean, James Blake, Moses Sumney, Osunlade, Tank and the Bangas, and many more.
